Naomi goes Nuts for Chip and Pepper

Naomi Campbell has been released on bail after being arrested for allegedly hitting her housekeeper with a Blackberry late last week. The 35-year-old supermodel was charged in a Manhattan Court with second degree assault and has been ordered to return to court on June 27.
Police were originally called to Lenox Hill Hospital in New York on Thursday afternoon, where Campbell’s 41-year-old housekeeper, Ana Scolavino, was being treated for a cut on her head. She claimed Campbell had hit her with a telephone after arguing with her over a missing pair of Chip & Pepper jeans. “Do I look like I’d fit in her jeans?” she added.
Rather ironic, really, considering the New York Post reported (as seen above, click for the enlarged version) last year that “Design Duo Chip and Pepper are giving out T-shirts at the Bryant Park Fashion week tents that say “Naomi [Campbell] hit me” on the front, and on the back “and I liked it”. Campbells rep Rob Shutter said “Its the first Ive heard of them, but they have a great sense of humor.”

Campbell, meanwhile, has released a statement to the media explaining that she had fired Scolavino earlier on Thursday morning because of various missing items and “her erratic behaviour”. “She is sadly mistaken if she thinks she can extract money from me by concocting lies by recycling old stories,” Campbell went on. “I have asked my lawyer to look into filing both theft and extortion charges against her.”
